Chamber scholarship applications now available

The Plainfield Chamber of Commerce is continuing its scholarship program in 2014. The Chamber will be awarding two $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and an additional $2,500 scholarship for an adult student. New this year, the Chamber will also be offering a $2500 vocational scholarship.

Selection criteria and application requirements can be found on the attached applications. These applications are also available for download at www.plainfield-in.com. Interested applicants must submit all required materials no later than noon on Friday, April 18, 2014.

 

Scholarship recipients will be requested to attend the Chamber Membership Meeting on Tuesday, May 20 to be recognized for the award and their achievements. The scholarship will be sent directly to the institution specified.

Quaker Day Parade Theme Contest

The Plainfield Chamber of Commerce has announced a Quaker Day Parade Theme Contest for the 2014 parade. The contest is open to all ages and will run through April 14. The winning entry will receive a pizza party for up to 15 people at Plainfield Chicago’s Pizza and a $50 Chamber Buck$ certificate good at over 40 Plainfield businesses. Relay for Life

Relay For Life in Plainfield will be June 6-7 at Hummel Park. The next Relay For Life meetings are on April 14 at the Plainfield Library. The committee meets at 6 p.m. and the team meeting is at 7 p.m. All are welcome to come and learn more about what Relay For Life is and what the American Cancer Society does.
