Plainfield’s close location to
Indianapolis, the airport, and the connecting major
highways, has made the town’s
hotel,
dining, and
shopping district a well located place from
which to visit Indianapolis. Plainfield has 12+
hotels conveniently located in close proximity to
the I-70 exit, which offer the best in amenities
such as deluxe continental breakfasts, indoor
swimming pools, exercise rooms, and business
centers.
Plainfield is a close-knit suburban community with
historical significance and economic dependence.
That is why our town is the perfect place to visit
for those who enjoy wide-open spaces and a relaxing
environment. Upon your arrival to Plainfield, stop
by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce office, and we
will inform you of the nearby golf-courses, small
town orchards and markets, and outdoor recreation.
During your stay in Plainfield, be sure to visit the
Metropolis, a newly developed outdoor shopping mall.
It consists of a fantastic collection of shops and
restaurants new to Indy’s west side.
Plainfield is also home of five town parks offering
a variety of facilities including playgrounds,
tennis courts, baseball diamonds, shelter houses,
and more. Plainfield has one of the largest township
parks, Hummel Park. There you can enjoy an
extensive, safe trail system available for walking,
biking and more. Hummel Park is the host of many
outdoor summer concerts and an entertaining 4th of
July
fireworks celebration held every year.
The Splash Island Family Waterpark at the Plainfield
Recreation and Aquatic Center is a fun thrilled
place to visit that includes three waterslides, and
interactive play area for all ages including kiddie
slides, water jets, ropes and guns, a gentle winding
river, lily pad crossing, plenty of deck space and
grassy areas for family fun.
The award-winning Chateau Thomas Winery is also
located in Plainfield just off of I-70 and State
Road 267. The winery is open year round and is a
great place for travelers to visit due to its
wonderful entertainment and activities which include
free wine tasting, group tours, and Friday evening
“Music on the Veranda”.
If you are a fan of auto racing, you will find that
Plainfield is the perfect place to enjoy the sport.
Not only is Plainfield just miles away from the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway but we happen to be only
minutes away from one of the most diverse auto
racing facilities in the country, the O’Reilly
Raceway Park (ORP) which hosts over 100 annual
events. ORP offers a variety of racing events for
you and your family to enjoy!

September, be sure to come to the annual Quaker Day
Parade and admire the decorative, community floats
honoring the Town of Plainfield.
